Gait
In Review
Walking — a repeating cycle in which each leg alternates between carrying the body's weight and swinging through. Every step means absorbing landing forces, rolling over a stable foot, pushing off from the hip and calf, and letting the opposite arm and trunk counter-rotate. Good looks like: even step lengths, the pelvis staying level, the foot rolling from heel to toe, a clear push-off, and the arms swinging freely and opposite to the legs. Gait is the ultimate integration test: it is where a stiff ankle, a weak hip or a guarded back all eventually show themselves, and it is the movement people do thousands of times a day, so a small fault gets a lot of repetitions.
