Rhomboid minor

Musculus rhomboideus minor

The smaller, higher of the two rhomboids — a band about a finger's width running from the base of the neck to the point where the ridge of the shoulder blade meets its inner edge. It does the same work as rhomboid major, pulling the shoulder blade in toward the spine and tipping the socket downward, and in practice the two are treated as a single muscle. The muscle worth telling it apart from is levator scapulae just above, which climbs into the neck instead of running to the spine.
