Anococcygeal nerve

Nervi anococcygei

A few fine filaments — the entire output of the coccygeal plexus. They arise from the joined fourth and fifth sacral and coccygeal nerves, pierce the sacrotuberous ligament, and supply the small patch of skin between the tip of the tailbone and the anus. That patch is the only skin in the body supplied by the coccygeal plexus, which makes these threads the last named nerves in the segmental sequence that runs from the top of the neck to the end of the spine.
