Arteria brachialis

The brachial artery is the main artery of the upper arm, continuing from the axillary artery at the lower border of teres major and running down the inner side of the arm alongside the median nerve. It is easy to find and comparatively superficial, which is why it is the artery a blood-pressure cuff compresses and the one a stethoscope listens to in the crook of the elbow. Just below the elbow it divides into the radial and ulnar arteries.
