5th metacarpal

In Review

The little finger's metacarpal, and the most mobile of the four finger rays. Its base articulates with the hamate alone and carries a tubercle on its outer side for the tendon of extensor carpi ulnaris, while flexor carpi ulnaris reaches it indirectly through the pisometacarpal ligament. The shaft is short and slender, and its head forms the knuckle at the outer edge of a closed fist.
