Frontalis
Venter frontalis musculi occipitofrontalis
In Review
The thin sheet of muscle across your forehead that raises your eyebrows and creates horizontal forehead lines. Unusually, it has no bony attachment at either end — it hangs from a tough tendon sheet over the top of the skull and blends into the skin of the eyebrows, which is why it moves skin rather than bone. It matters clinically because it sits inside the band of tissue people describe when they say a headache feels like a tight strap around the head, and because it holds low-grade tension during sustained mental stress.
