Knee pain
Reviewed by Dr. Ryan Rietz, D.P.T. and Dr. John Breyman, D.C.
The knee is a hinge caught between two joints that steer it — the hip above and the foot below. When the hip stops controlling, the knee collapses inward on every squat, step and stride, and it takes the punishment for a decision made somewhere else. That's why knee pain so often responds to glute work rather than knee work. The knee is usually the victim, not the culprit.
