Proximal stability

The shoulder and elbow giving the hand something to work from. Fine work happens at the end of a long arm, and the hand can only be precise and economical if everything behind it is holding still — otherwise every repetition is absorbed at the wrist instead of shared up the chain. Good looks like: the shoulder blade set, the shoulder quiet, and the elbow supported, so the hand does the fine work and nothing else has to. When the base is missing, the wrist and hand take the whole job themselves, which is why no amount of adjusting the mouse ever quite fixes it — the support has to come from further up.
