Slump test

In Review

A seated neurodynamic test. The patient is moved into a slouched position and the neck, knee and ankle are added one at a time to progressively tension the whole neural tract from the spinal cord down the sciatic nerve. The key step is the last one: if releasing neck flexion eases the leg symptoms, the tissue under tension was neural rather than muscular.
