Supratrochlear nerve

Nervus supratrochlearis

The smaller end-branch of the frontal nerve, supplying the inner end of the eyebrow and the lower middle of the forehead. Its name records its landmark: it leaves the orbit above the trochlea, the small cartilage pulley in the upper inner corner of the eye socket that the superior oblique tendon loops through. From there it curves onto the brow deep to corrugator supercilii and frontalis before piercing them to reach the skin. Its territory is the strip between and just above the eyebrows — the patch that bunches when you frown — while its larger partner, the supraorbital nerve, takes everything to the outside of it.
