Temporalis

The headache that sits in the temple, and the toothache that sits in the upper teeth. The temporalis is the broad fan covering the side of the skull above the ear — put your fingers on your temple and clench and you will feel it move. Points spread through the fan refer up into the temple itself and forward into the eyebrow and the upper teeth. Two things make this record matter more than its size suggests. The temple is where a great many people locate 'my headache', and this is a chewing muscle, so a headache that is really a clenching problem is being managed as a headache. And the upper-tooth referral is the same trap the masseter sets: an aching upper tooth with nothing wrong with it.
