Ulnar collateral ligament

Ligamentum collaterale ulnare

A triangular ligament on the inner side of the elbow, in three parts: a strong anterior bundle running from the medial epicondyle of the humerus down to a small rise on the coronoid process of the ulna, a fan-shaped posterior bundle to the olecranon, and a thin transverse band joining the two ulnar attachments. The anterior bundle is the part that does the work; the other two are comparatively minor. It lies directly beneath the common flexor tendon and the muscles arising there, and the ulnar nerve passes behind it in its own groove.
