Deep Neck Flexor Endurance test

In Review

A timed hold that measures stamina, not strength, in the deep muscles at the front of the neck (longus colli and longus capitis). These are the muscles that quietly hold the head over the shoulders all day, so what matters clinically is how long they last. The chin tuck is what isolates them: lose the tuck and the larger, more superficial neck muscles have taken over, which ends the test.
