Flexor carpi ulnaris

Musculus flexor carpi ulnaris

The wrist flexor on the little-finger side, and the most superficial muscle along the inner edge of the forearm. It bends the wrist and tips the hand toward the pinky — the combination you use to swing a hammer or scythe. It is unusual among the flexor group in being supplied by the ulnar nerve, and the nerve enters the forearm by passing between its two heads just behind the inner elbow, which is why the muscle matters in cubital tunnel problems as well as in gripping complaints.
