Lumbar plexus

Plexus lumbalis

The lumbar plexus is the nerve network of the upper leg, formed from the front branches of the upper lumbar nerves and buried within the psoas major muscle beside the spine. Its branches emerge around the edges of psoas and travel down to supply the front and the inner side of the thigh — the femoral nerve to the quadriceps, the obturator nerve to the adductors — along with the skin of the groin and the front of the thigh.
