Os pubis

The pubis is the front part of the hip bone. The two pubic bones swing forwards and meet each other in the midline at the pubic symphysis, closing the pelvic ring at the front. Its upper border carries the pubic tubercle, where the inguinal ligament anchors, and it is a place where opposing pulls meet: the rectus abdominis pulls up on it from the trunk while the adductors pull down on it from the thighs.
