Styloid process of the radius

Processus styloideus radii

The radial styloid is the pointed tip at the lower end of the radius, easily felt on the thumb side of the wrist. The brachioradialis inserts on it — the only muscle to do so — and the radial collateral ligament of the wrist anchors to it. It reaches further down than the matching point on the little-finger side, and that difference in height is part of why the wrist tilts more easily towards the little finger than towards the thumb.
