Iliofemoral ligament
Ligamentum iliofemorale
In Review
The strongest ligament in the body, an inverted Y across the front of the hip. It is the reason you can stand all day without using much muscle: as the hip drifts into extension the ligament pulls tight and simply holds you there. It also limits how far the thigh can rotate outward.
