Radial artery

Arteria radialis

The radial artery is one of the brachial artery's two terminal branches, running down the thumb side of the forearm. Near the wrist it lies on bone with almost nothing over it, which makes it the artery everyone knows: the pulse taken at the wrist is this vessel. It then curls around the base of the thumb through the anatomical snuffbox and dives into the palm to complete the deep palmar arch.
