The frontal bone forms the forehead and the roof of both eye sockets, meeting the parietal bones behind at the coronal suture. The muscle that raises the eyebrows lies over it inside the scalp rather than attaching to the bone directly, which is why forehead tension is felt as a broad ache across the brow instead of at a point.
