Zygomatic bone
Os zygomaticum
In Review
The zygomatic bone is the cheekbone: it forms the prominence of the cheek and the outer rim of the eye socket, and reaches back to join the temporal bone as the zygomatic arch. The masseter arises from that arch and from the lower border of this bone, which is why the cheek is often tender in people who clench their jaw.
