Superior pubic ligament

Ligamentum pubicum superius

A dense band lying across the top of the pubic symphysis between the two pubic tubercles and the crests either side of them. It roofs the joint in the same way the arcuate ligament floors it, and both blend with the fibrocartilage disc between the bones. Fibres arriving from the abdominal wall above and the adductor origins below are woven into it, so this ligament is a crossing point between trunk and leg rather than a closed unit. It lies along the bony ridge you can find in the midline just above the genitals.
