Supraspinatus tendon

In Review

The rotator cuff tendon that passes through the narrowest space in the shoulder — the gap between the top of the humeral head and the bony arch of the acromion above it. It attaches to the greater tubercle and helps start and steer arm elevation. Living in a tight corridor and being squeezed there during overhead reaching is why this is the single most commonly irritated tendon in the shoulder.
