Long head of biceps tendon

An unusual tendon: it begins inside the shoulder joint itself, arches over the top of the humeral head, then turns down to run in a bony groove at the front of the upper arm. That long, sharply angled course through a moving joint is why it is a frequent source of front-of-shoulder pain and why it is so often involved alongside rotator cuff problems.
