5th metatarsal

The metatarsal of the little toe, identified without difficulty by the tuberosity on the outer side of its base — a prominent bump you can feel halfway along the outer border of the foot, projecting backwards past the joint. The tendon of fibularis brevis attaches to that tuberosity, and a slip of the plantar fascia reaches it from behind. Its base articulates with the cuboid alone, and the shaft is the shortest and most slender of the lesser rays.
