Arteria glutea inferior

The inferior gluteal artery is a branch of the internal iliac artery supplying the lower buttock. It leaves the pelvis through the greater sciatic foramen below piriformis — the crowded gateway it shares with the sciatic nerve and the inferior gluteal nerve — and supplies gluteus maximus and the deep hip rotators. It also contributes to the anastomosis around the hip joint.
