Medial cluneal nerves

Nervi clunium medii

The middle set of the three buttock skin nerves, and the only one that comes out through bone. They are the lateral branches of the dorsal rami of the upper sacral nerves, emerging from the small openings on the back of the sacrum, and they supply the skin over the sacrum itself and the inner part of the buttock as far out as the top of the natal cleft. Their territory is the area that takes the pressure when a person lies flat on their back.
