Piriformis TrP2

The piriformis' medial point, at the sacral end of the muscle rather than the hip end. Its referral covers the same ground as TrP1 — deep buttock, sacroiliac region, back of the thigh — and it earns a separate record for the same reason the levator's two points do: it is somewhere else. The muscle runs from the sacrum out to the hip, and a therapist working only the outer half is treating half a muscle. This end sits closest to the sacroiliac joint, which is worth knowing when SI pain is the complaint.
