Tibia
In Review
The tibia is the shin bone, and it is the weight-bearing bone of the lower leg — load travels from the knee straight down it into the ankle. Its broad top plateau receives the two condyles of the thigh bone, its sharp front border lies directly under the skin the whole way down (which is why knocking it hurts so much), and its lower end makes the roof and the inner wall of the ankle joint, ending in the knob of the medial malleolus.
