Plantar calcaneocuboid ligament
Ligamentum calcaneocuboideum plantare
In Review
A short, wide and very strong band lying deep to the long plantar ligament, passing from the front part of the underside of the heel bone to the underside of the cuboid just behind the groove for fibularis longus. It is shorter and closer to the bones than the ligament covering it, which is the usual arrangement in the sole: the deeper the band, the shorter its span and the more directly it holds two neighbouring bones together.
