Lesser tubercle
Tuberculum minus
In Review
The lesser tubercle is the smaller knob on the front of the top of the arm bone, separated from the greater tubercle by a groove. The subscapularis inserts here — the fourth rotator cuff muscle, and the only one that comes from the front of the shoulder blade. Its attachment completes the cuff's grip all the way around the head of the humerus.
